About Data Matrix
Data Matrix (ISO/IEC 16022) is a square 2D symbology widely used for marking small parts in electronics, aerospace, and pharmaceuticals. It supports strong Reed-Solomon error correction.
Valid input
- ECC 200 is the only valid error correction for new symbols. Older ECC levels exist but are obsolete.
- Supports any byte payload up to 2,335 alphanumeric or 3,116 numeric characters.
- Quiet zone: at least 1 module on every side.
- Minimum module size for small-part marking is typically 0.254 mm; verify with your imager's resolution.
