QR Code generator.

A two-dimensional matrix symbology standardised as ISO/IEC 18004. Encode up to 4,296 alphanumeric characters. Adjustable error correction from 7% to 30%. Everything renders locally - your data never leaves the browser.

§ 02 · ABOUT

What a QR code is

Invented by Denso Wave in 1994 for tracking automotive parts. Designed for fast omnidirectional reading: three finder patterns anchor the corners, and Reed-Solomon error correction lets the code be decoded even when partially damaged, dirty, or occluded.

REFERENCE
/01
Error correction
Four Reed-Solomon levels. Higher correction absorbs more damage at the cost of density: L ≈ 7%, M ≈ 15%, Q ≈ 25%, H ≈ 30% of the code can be destroyed and still decoded.
/02
Versions & capacity
Sizes range from Version 1 (21 × 21 modules) to Version 40 (177 × 177). Capacity scales accordingly - up to 7,089 numeric, 4,296 alphanumeric, or 2,953 bytes at the lowest error correction.
/03
Quiet zone
The surrounding empty margin must be at least 4 modules wide for a scanner to reliably separate the code from its background. The quiet-zone control above enforces this.

Common payloads
